Thank you to Online Turf 🌱

We've been getting lots of fantastic comments from people visiting us regarding our lawn 💚

At the end of May, we re-turfed inside the church, and a huge thank you goes out to Online Turf for sponsoring our 2024 summer lawn! Based locally in Ormskirk, just outside Liverpool, Online Turf grows their own turf and sources soil and compost products locally, ensuring we get the freshest turf possible.

"Online Turf is a family-owned turf supplier based locally in Aughton, West Lancashire. We grow, sell, and distribute fresh-cut turf both locally and nationally, delivering across the UK on a next day service. We’re always happy and proud to provide St Luke’s Bombed Out Church with high quality, locally grown turf.”

With the church run as an inner city green space for local benefit and regularly hosts cultural events / community projects and the inner lawn plays a massive part in creating a welcoming and functional space. The generous support of local organisations like Online Turf is a big part of what keeps the Bombed Out Church thriving.Starting as a small family farm, Online Turf has been a part of the local farming community since 1987. Situated just twelve miles north of Liverpool near the M58, all their turf is freshly harvested to order and dispatched with next day delivery to homes and professional landscapers across the UK.

“We use one of Europe’s biggest pallet distribution networks to send our freshly cut turf all over the UK, earning our tagline of ‘Making Britain Greener’. We also have local landscapers and the general public popping in throughout the day to collect turf from the yard, allowing us to supply and support the local community.”

All their turf is grown from seed on specially chosen fields in the surrounding area. Being near to the coast, the land in West Lancashire is nice and flat, with the soil a black, sandy loam which is packed full of nutrients. The Great British weather also helps by providing lots of rainfall, even throughout the summer.

This combination of the local climate and landscape allows Online Turf to supply turf of the highest standard.Wherever possible we select sustainable and eco-friendly suppliers, with Online Turf being a fantastic example of a responsible company In this regard. They are carbon negative, emitting less carbon than they absorb, with their operations on average saving 361 tonnes of carbon each year!

Their website has also grown to include a full range of lawn products and an expansive knowledge base full of gardening and lawn care tips.

“We are always happy to help all our customers select the right grass for them and to advise them on the preparation, laying and aftercare to ensure they end up with a new lawn to be proud of.”

A massive thanks again to Online Turf for their generous support! Here’s to them and a lush summer lawn 🥂
